Feeding Trumpet Coral

Trumpet Coral Colony

Here is a quick video of me feeding one of my Trumpet coral colonies.

You will notice the tentacle extension at the beginning of this video which shows these corals are
ready to eat. The main focus of this video is to demonstrate how quickly the heads close around
the captured food once the Trumpet Corals are Fed. I assume the reason is so that it is secured
and cannot be stolen by other animals. Near the end of the video you will see a cleaner shrimp
try to steal some of the food from the Trumpet Coral, but quickly realizes it’s no easy meal and
abandons the colony’s captured food to search for a much easier free floating meal.

On a side note: Remember all corals should be fed, give up the “light only” mentality and enjoy
your corals healthier appearance and faster growth!
